Club Run LA April 08
Nike’s Club Run LA is starting again. Turns out the first run was on April 1st for the Hermosa area.
They have different running paces and distances for all levels of runners. It starts at 6:30 but I have never seen them run at 6:30… usually takes about 20 mins for them to get the runners together.
Distance:
- 1 - Mile
- 3 - Mile
- 5 - Mile
Pace anywhere from 15 mins/mile (Good Walking Speed) to 7 mins/mile (However some break off and hit 6 mins/mile).
If you bring your ID you can try a pair of Nike shoes and get free socks! After the run Nike/Sangria provides free drinks and some food to eat, plus a raffle with some cool prizes.
Attack Of The Stingrays
Okay, I think its time we took the stingrays out of the petting tanks. This is getting a little crazy.
Judy Kay Zagorski, 57, died while boating on the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida. A stingray jumped out of the water, and struck her in the head. Both she and the stingray died as a result.
It leaped out of the water! I didn’t even know they could jump out of the water.
I’m pretty sure he took her out for the hat… thats a sweet looking hat.
Unique Clock And Full Screen Display
I’m a fan of these sites that display simple information or a function at full screen. One of my favorites is a clock for Tokyo/Japan. Hours of Fun, for everyone.
Xeyes is a program that follows the cursor movements on the screen as if they were watching it. Heres another full screen demo of it with a girl. Kind of creepy. =)
And of course we can’t forget our ultimate screen cleaner. My LCD has never been so dust/fingerprint free! No screen shot for this one… its a surprise.
So this leads me to my next programming project. At Coffee Bean they have an LCD with scrolling widgets. Its called Ripple TV. It runs full screen with news, stock quotes, sports scores, and a few ads.
This seems like a simple project and an easy way to learn flash. So I’ll keep everyone updated on my progress and put a link on the front page once its working.
