I Can Jump The Grand Canyon With No Handlebars

Casually sunbathing on a rock column in the Grand Canyon.

How did I end up here?

The photographer sets up his tripod on a perilous pinnacle of rock.

Lens Cap Off

Time to get back…One, two, three, jump!

Gotta Jump Back.
Got Hops!
Ghost Rider is Down.

Oohh, close! He didn’t grab the rock properly the first time and slipped back about 50cm (20 inches) before clinging onto it. Even then he didn’t look fazed.

Hack: Free Wi-Fi At AT&T Hotspots (Starbucks, Barnes and Nobles)

AT&T runs the hotspots at Starbucks and Barnes and Nobles and they are offering free Wi-Fi to iPhone customers. If you don’t have an iPhone you can still get free Wi-Fi by switching your browsers user agent. By sending an iPhone user agent from our laptops we can get free Wi-Fi without an iPhone or iTouch.

A User Agent is a name sent by your browser to let the web site know what client you are using. So a Firefox browser might send a user agent like: FireFox 2.0 (Win XP) This is simple to change.

The easiest way to change your user agent is by adding the User Agent Switcher plug-in on Firefox. A huge list of different user agents can be found here.

However the one we want is the iPhone user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/1A543a Safari/419.3

So set your user agent to this and BAM! Free Wi-Fi at AT&T Hotspots. I know this is a pretty simple hack so it should be plugged up soon…. so get it while it last.
